Donyaye Eqtesad – Tabriz – Sima Nikraftar: The billet production line of Aras Steel Holding, with an annual capacity of 240,000 tons, has been put into operation in the Aras Free Zone. The Chief Executive Officer of the Holding stated that for the establishment of this production line, titled Azarabadegan Aras Steel Complex—one of the subsidiaries of the Holding—more than 2.2 trillion Rials have been invested to the date.
Mr. Masoud Moharrami added that the production capacity of this line in its first phase is 120,000 tons, which will reach 240,000 tons annually upon completion of subsequent phases. He emphasized that with the inauguration of this line, 200 direct jobs have been created in the Aras Free Zone.
He further noted that Aras Steel Holding initiated the Azarabadegan project in 2018 on a land area of 35 hectares. According to him, the billets produced in this complex, meeting the highest international standards, will be supplied as raw material to rolling mills in both domestic and international markets.
Mohararmi also declared that the company currently produces more than 200 tons of steel billets daily, and with the commissioning of the second phase of the plant in February of the current year, its billet production capacity will be doubled.
