The visit of the Honorable Director General of the Office of Mineral Industries

Visit of the Director General of the Office of Mineral Industries and Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mineral Industries of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade to Azarabadgan Aras Steel Complex

Mr. Seyfollah Amiri, the esteemed Director General of the Office of Mineral Industries of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, together with Mr. Haj Heydari, Head of the Steel Department of the Ministry, visited East Azerbaijan Province on Wednesday, February 18, and inspected several steel units in the region.

During this trip, visits were conducted to companies located in the northern part of the province, including Azar Nabsh Tabriz, Arg Steel Tabriz in the Foreign Investment Industrial town, Azarabadegan Aras Steel in the Aras Free Zone, and Ahan Foulad Jahan Sepahan in Tabriz. Short meetings were held at each unit to review their challenges and issues.

A joint meeting was also convened at Laleh Park Hotel in Tabriz with the presence of the Board of Directors and several members of the Azerbaijan Steel Association. In this session, association members presented the problems and difficulties faced by their units. Mr. Rahimi, Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, emphasized matters related to the current regulations and proposed amendments, calling for a fundamental review of three key principles: the supply of raw materials, the offering of final steel products on the Commodity Exchange, and the pricing mechanisms applied therein.

Mr. Amiri further stated that the collective efforts of colleagues in the Ministry, particularly within the Deputy Office of Mineral Industries, are focused on supporting the dynamism and continuity of steel units. He expressed hope that with the approval of the Steel Law in Parliament and the introduction of a precise and well‑considered executive bylaw, a significant burden would be lifted from the steel producers’ community.
